Spring Update
Hello Corvus Landing CSA members!
I wanted to get in touch with a quick update. The farm is looking great, we’ve been hard at work planting the fields and greenhouses and the plants are taking off. Just this last week we finished several major projects: we finished planting out brand new baby orchard, trellised the new planting of raspberries (fingers crossed we’ll get a crop this year!), and put plastic on our newest greenhouse. Just today we put in the first 3 rows of tomatoes and saw the first potatoes poking out of the ground, and this week we’ll be planting the pumpkins and winter squash. I’m expecting a fantastic CSA season and I hope you’re looking forward to it.
The CSA begins the first week of July. If you are getting the classic share, we’ll get in touch a couple weeks ahead with specific pickup instructions (time, location, etc). If you are signed up for the part time flex share, you can begin using it at any of our stands beginning July 1. Flower bouquet shares will begin in July but we have not finalized the starting date. We’ve got lots planted already and they’re looking great, but as these are a new crop for us I’m not sure when we’ll start having enough for all of you.
Please note that our markets begin before the CSA! I encourage you to come get some spring produce from us as soon as tomorrow at the first farm stand, but this is not included in the price of your share. We’ll have salad mix, radishes, turnips, kale, and more, and the variety will only increase. We also have plants ready for your coastal garden, including cool-climate tomatoes beginning next week. You can find us at:
Farm Stand at Corvus Landing Farm, Tuesdays, 9 – 2, May 14 to November 20
Neskowin Farmers Market, Saturdays 9 – 1, May 18 to September 28
Farm Stand at Lincoln City Hospital cafeteria, Thursdays 11 – 2, opens mid-June (we are aiming for June 13 as our first day!)
In the mean time, sign up to follow our weekly CSA share notes and recipes here . We write these as a blog, and you can get weekly notices of new posts in your inbox. We usually have paper copies available in the farm stand as well. To see more pictures and other farm news, you can follow us on Instagram (@corvuslanding) or Facebook (/corvuslanding).
If you are signed up for an installment plan, note that your next payment will be due July 1. (We’ll send a reminder in June.)
Let me know if you have any questions and thank you for being a member of the Corvus Landing CSA!
